Bond was set at $400,000 during an arraignment yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court for an East Toledo man accused of forcing women into his car at gunpoint and coercing them to perform sexual acts, authorities said.

Scott Tristan, 22, of 1679 Tracy Rd., who was charged with one count of rape, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of attempted kidnapping, was being held in the Lucas County jail.

Mr. Tristan is accused of approaching three different women on three different occasions - July 1, July 22, and Tuesday. The women were walking alone on the city's east side when they were approached.

Mr. Tristan was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of attempting to abduct a woman from the 500 block of Oakdale Street, police said.

He is accused of brandishing a handgun in front of a woman July 1 while she was waiting for a bus near Oak Street and Navarre Avenue. She was ordered into a car and forced to perform a sex act in a nearby alley, police said.

Mr. Tristan also is accused of threatening to kill a woman July 22 after he forced her at gunpoint into his vehicle, took her to an alley of Forsythe Street, and forced her to perform a sex act, police said.
