Judge orders East Toledo woman back to prison

Nearly six months after she was granted release by a Lucas County Common Pleas Court judge, Candace Woodall has been ordered to return to prison and finish her sentence for felony child endangering.

Woodall, 27, was released Feb. 4 after serving about six months of her 17-month sentence. Judge Denise Ann Dartt granted the judicial release and instead ordered her to four years of community control, including six months at the Correctional Treatment Facility.

Woodall admitted on Monday to absconding from the substance-abuse treatment center, and Judge Dartt ordered her back to prison. Attorney William Meyer said the act was a result of her lapsing back into drug use.

Woodall was arrested in July, 2007, after a neighbor found that her then-2-year-old daughter had been left alone at an East Toledo residence. She pleaded no contest to child endangering on Aug. 20, 2007, and was eventually sentenced to prison time.

Woodall's children are in the care of relatives.
