The second of two men convicted of robbing a man at gunpoint in central Toledo has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Darnell Walker, 18, of Oconnell Street, was sentenced Monday to five years for aggravated robbery plus three years for the added gun specification. A one-year sentence for a possession of crack cocaine charge was ordered to be served concurrently.

Judge Gene Zmuda dismissed charges of felonious assault with a gun specification and cocaine trafficking as part of a plea agreement.

Authorities said that Roy Young was walking in the 400 block of Cumberland Place about 2 a.m. March 28 when two men robbed him. One man had a gun.

Police arrested the men nearby. Officers found a loaded gun with ammunition as well as a bag containing crack cocaine in Walker's front pocket.

Walker's co-defendant, Bobby Gittens, 19, of 3547 Hoiles Ave., was sentenced to seven years in prison Thursday after pleading no contest to a charge of complicity to aggravated robbery with a firearm specification.
