Recycling firm to shred, take electronics for free

8/15/2008

A local recycling firm will offer free office-paper shredding and electronics recycling to the public tomorrow as a community service.

AccuShred will accept up to two banker s boxes of confidential documents, including floppy disks, compact discs, and pill bottles along with paper, for immediate destruction at Enterprise Office Systems, 19 North Erie St., from 9 a.m. until noon. Additional boxes will be accepted for $3 each.

Individuals also will be welcome to drop off old electronics, including computers, for destruction and recycling.

Originally, we had intended for this Shred Day to include only Enterprise Office customers, but we [decided] to open it up to the entire Toledo community, said David Freed, Enterprise s controller.

Drawings will be held for door prizes, including Toledo Mud Hens tickets, a portable DVD player, and discount coupons for office supplies.
