Toledo couple sue Kmart pharmacy

9/9/2008

A Toledo couple filed a suit yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court claiming they received the wrong medication from a local Kmart pharmacy.

Stanley and Patricia Mikolajczyk sued the Kmart at 1801 West Alexis Rd. They contend Mr. Mikolajczyk dropped off a prescription from his doctor on Sept. 16, 2007, but because of the negligence of pharmacy employees, he was given a different medication.

After taking the wrong medication, Mr. Mikolajczyk became "violently ill," had extreme pain, and eventually was hospitalized, the complaint states.

The suit, assigned to Judge Charles Doneghy, requests a judgment of $25,000.
