Wood County Juvenile Center earns perfect inspection

10/9/2008

BOWLING GREEN The Wood County Juvenile Detention Center met 100 percent of the mandatory and recommended standards for juvenile detention facilities following a recent on-site inspection.

Juvenile Court Judge David Woessner said the Ohio Department of Youth Services looked at 16 areas during the annual inspection, including personnel, training and staff development, medical and health-care services, and administration and management.

The outstanding results of this inspection reflect the commitment the Juvenile Detention Center management and employees have toward progressive, firm, and fair treatment for youth in our facility, he said in a statement.

The 48-bed facility serves male and female youths under 18 from Wood County. Adjoining counties rent bed space there as needed for juvenile offenders.
