A Toledo man charged in the Oct. 5 shooting of two men in the city's south end was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Deshawn Reese, 18, of 4712 Vallejo Drive was charged with two counts of felonious assault, each with a firearm specification. He remains in the county jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

Authorities said Mr. Reese drove to the 400 block of Torrington Drive, near the Hill Avenue-Richards Road area, about 2:20 p.m. Oct. 5 looking for the son of Vann Pryor of 428 Torrington. Pryor asked the suspect to leave. When he refused, Pryor went into his house to get a gun, police said.

Mr. Reese allegedly got a gun from his car and fired several shots, striking Pryor once in the right leg. James White, 55, was struck in the abdomen by a stray bullet while working in his garage a few houses from the Pryor residence, police said.

The suspect fled and police issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Reese, who surrendered Oct. 6.
