Man sought in shootings of 2 at bar

11/2/2008

Authorities yesterday sought a man accused of shooting another man and a woman outside a central Toledo bar at about closing time following a fight at a different bar, police said.

Rex Tall, Jr., 24, and Taiyanna Richey, 22, whose addresses were withheld by police, were treated at Toledo Hospital for gunshot wounds to the legs, officers said in a report.

An arrest warrant was

issued for Tony Adams, 26, who was charged with

felonious assault, Sgt. Phil Toney said. The suspect's address was withheld by police.

Mr. Tall told police the incident stemmed from a fight earlier that night at the Blueprint Sports Bar and Lounge, 1919 Monroe St.

The suspect apparently followed Mr. Tall inside Mary's Bar, 302 North Detroit Ave., and then fired a shot inside the bar, causing everyone to flee.

Mr. Tall waited outside until about 2 a.m. when he thought it was safe to return and started to walk back to the bar with Ms. Richey, with whom he had met up outside.

That's when the suspect fired at them from a parked car, grazing each in the leg, Mr. Tall told police, according to the report. While fleeing on foot, the wounded pair reported hearing six more shots fired, the report said.
