Police are still looking for the man who shot a Toledoan early Sunday morning while stealing his car.

Joseph B. Belcher IV, 30, of Toledo, was carjacked and shot in the leg around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Adams and Warren streets.

Authorities said he was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, but hospital personnel Sunday afternoon said they had no information on a person by that name.

Toledo police officers who responded to shots heard in the area of Madison and 18th streets pursued two cars that left the area while Officer Jeff Scott was flagged down by Mr. Belcher, who provided details of the suspected theft.

Sgt. Phil Toney said Sunday afternoon that no arrests have been made.
