2 struck by police cars in 05 share in $32,000

11/7/2008

Toledo City Council approved a $32,000 settlement with two people struck more than three years ago by a police cruiser responding to assist other officers.

Police Officers Eric Board and Danielle Kasprzak were providing backup assistance on a call of a man with a gun and a large disturbance at Warren and Columbia streets in May, 2005.

As the officers were pulling over to stop, their vehicle went over a curb and hit Samuel Williams, who was 16 at the time, and Minnie Crisp, then 44. Both were treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

The settlement approved Wednesday calls for the city to pay $15,000 to Ms. Crisp and $17,000 to Mr. Williams.
