Toledo man dies after being struck by car

A West Toledo man struck by a car while crossing East Alexis Road Thursday night has died, authorities said.

Derrick Hall, 26, who suffered head injuries and was put on life support after the accident, died in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center about 1:45 p.m. Friday. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, according to the Lucas County Coroner s Office.

Mr. Hall was struck as he got off a TARTA bus about 9 p.m. Thursday and crossed East Alexis near Enterprise Boulevard. He was hit by an eastbound car, and the driver did not see him.

The driver of the car, John Vollmer of Bryan, Ohio, whose age was not released, was not injured. He has not been cited, police said.
