11/30/2008

ARCHBOLD Northwest State Community College will host a seminar Tuesday to discuss the future of petroleum energy.

John Krochmalny, an industrial training specialist at the college and member of its education for sustainability committee, will lead the seminar that will begin at 12:10 p.m. in room C200. The event is free and open to the public.

According to the college, a growing number of analysts say evidence shows that half of the Earth s petroleum energy already has been extracted and consumed, and the rest is in areas with difficult access.

The situation has led to gas prices recently topping $4 a gallon and contributed to the country s financial crisis.

The seminar will discuss what s happening with petroleum energy and its effects on people in northwest Ohio.
