Man shot in North Toledo home invasion
12/4/2008A Toledo man was shot early Thursday during a home invasion in North Toledo, police said.
Johnny Lafayette, whose age was unavailable, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, officers said. A hospital spokesman said Thursday morning that she had no information about a person by that name.
The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. in a residence in the 500 block of Spring Street, police said.
Witnesses told police three men had forced their way into the residence, demanded drugs and money, and shot the victim. The assailants then fled the residence with several unspecified items they had grabbed there, officers said.
Once the assailants had fled, the victim tried to drive himself to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center but was stopped by police who then took him there, officers said.
