BOWLING GREEN The former principal of Perrysburg Junior High School was indicted this week by a Wood County grand jury on one count of theft in office.

Patrick Calvin, 44, of Perrysburg is accused of stealing between $500 and $5,000 from the school district. A previous charge filed in Perrysburg Municipal Court set the amount at $2,197.86.

Mr. Calvin is to be arraigned Friday before Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Mayberry. Conviction on the charge carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Mr. Calvin was suspended without pay or benefits by the school board, which had begun proceedings to terminate him. That process was put on hold when Mr. Calvin filed an appeal with the Ohio Department of Education.
