Michigan drug unit leader put on leave, faces probe

MONROE A Michigan State Police lieutenant who heads a drug enforcement unit has been suspended after authorities conducted a raid of his home.

Lt. Luke Davis, who oversees the Monroe narcotics operations unit, was placed on paid administrative leave while authorities conduct an internal investigation into accusations of misconduct, authorities said.

The lieutenant s home in Monroe was searched Thursday. It was unclear if anything was removed from the residence.

State police said any findings from the investigation will be sent to the Michigan attorney general for review.

Lieutenant Davis has been a member of the drug enforcement unit for at least 10 years. It includes members of the state police, Monroe police, and the Monroe County sheriff s department.
