Northwest Ohio parks awarded ODNR grants

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has awarded more than $1.7 million to develop and improve outdoor recreation at 90 parks in 58 counties.

In Lucas County, ODNR awarded $18,779 for two new public batting cages at Lathrop Park in Berkey and $25,000 for construction of restrooms to serve park visitors at Middlegrounds Metropark.

In Wood County, ODNR awarded $2,587 for diving board replacement at a public swimming pool in Pemberville, $3,086 for a new warning track along the outfield fence at Central Park in Northwood, and $15,030 for sanitary sewer improvements, construction of restrooms, and purchase of accessible playground at Community Park in Portage Township.

Sauder Village in Fulton County was awarded $17,816 for playground development, and $40,000 was allocated to acquire three acres at Meadowbrook Marsh Land in Ottawa County in Danbury Township.
