Owens student nurses to take gifts to children

12/10/2008

FINDLAY Student nurses at Owens Community College will do Santa s work today as they deliver brightly wrapped toys to children who are in the hospital.

Members of the Student Nursing Association at the Owens Findlay-area campus accepted toy donations the last few weeks. They plan to wrap the gifts in the nursing lab and then deliver the gifts to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay; Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green; Fostoria Community Hospital; Lima Memorial Hospital; Fremont Memorial Hospital, and Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

Many of the Owens nursing students conduct their clinical work in these hospitals, said Deanna Hays, president of the Findlay-area student nursing association.

This toy drive allows us to show our appreciation for that and to make a significant contribution to the patients, Ms. Hays said.
