Tips sought in Subway holdup

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a robbery attempt Dec. 6 during which a man with a gun tried to rob a Subway restaurant in West Toledo, authorities said.

The gunman, wearing a ski mask, walked into the restaurant at 4030 Monroe St. about

7 p.m., pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded money, police said. The female employee dropped to her knees, crawled into a back room, and waited for the gunman to leave, police said. Shortly afterward, a woman came into the restaurant.

The gunman was described as white, in his 30s, and about

5 feet, 2 inches tall. He was wearing a black jacket with multicolored patches and was carrying a small black or silver handgun, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
