University of Toledo President Dr. Lloyd Jacobs announced Monday during a town hall meeting that the university will lay off more than 100 temporary employees this week.

The temporary employees are those that might assist the police department on game days or work in the enrollment offices during busy periods, among other duties.

The layoffs will save about $250,000. There are about 4,000 temporary workers at UT, 3,000 of which are students and will not be affected by the cuts.
