Free bike helmets, strobe lights available

BOWLING GREEN Residents who register their bicycles can receive free bike helmets and strobe lights from Bowling Green police.

The police division and the city s bicycle safety commission are providing the equipment on a first-come, first-served basis.

By city ordinance, residents are required to register bicycles for a $3 fee.

Registration helps police identify bicycle owners when stolen bikes are recovered.
