Two Toledo cousins accused of robbing two carryouts Thursday evening and fleeing in a stolen vehicle appeared Friday in Toledo Municipal Court, authorities said.

Dominic Vasquez, 26, and Nico Vasquez, 18, both of 1207 Peck St. each were charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of receiving stolen property.

They remained in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $50,000 bonds.

Police said a man walked into a Sunoco filling station at 1625 Miami St. about 10 p.m. Thursday, told the clerk he had a gun, and demanded money.

He fled to a waiting vehicle after the clerk refused to give him money, police said.

The clerk reported the vehicle s description and license plate number to police.

About 30 minutes later, a man entered Circle K at 1444 West Alexis Rd., said he had a gun, and demanded money.

Police officers responding to the scene observed the vehicle matching the description of one used in the Miami Street robbery attempt, stopped it at Sylvania and Walker avenues, and arrested the two suspects, a report said.
