Auction at Bowsher nets about $20,000

Items sold, including tables, chairs, desks, and scoreboards, at the old Bowsher High School raised an estimated $20,000 during a one-day auction Wednesday. The money will be put into the Toledo Public Schools' general fund.

Plans call for the demolition of the old school building this spring, and the site will be the home of the new Beverly School, TPS spokesman Patty Mazur said.

The stadium at the old Bowsher site will remain, and will be used as the Bowsher home field. A new Bowsher High School opened in August.
