BOWLING GREEN Three people were charged with breaking into Fricker s Restaurant early yesterday, while two others were taken into custody.
Darrin Wright, 38, of McComb; Heather Bayless, 37, of Findlay, and Jeffrey Dahms, 38, of McCutchenville, Ohio, were charged with breaking and entering. Mr. Dahms also was charged with felonious assault on a police officer and falsification.
Laurie Sherbrook, 30, of Findlay was charged with felonious assault on a police officer, and Janie Zamora, 24, of McComb was being held on an unrelated warrant from Marion County.
According to Bowling Green Police Lt. Tony Hetrick, a break-in was reported at Fricker s on East Wooster Street about 4:15 a.m. Police converged on the Buckeye Inn & Studios after a snowplow driver reported seeing someone walk to the hotel and an officer saw a car drive from the area toward the hotel.
When officers went to the hotel room where the suspects were believed to be, Mr. Dahms allegedly jumped out of a second-floor window and fled. He was later arrested when police spotted him trying to hide in a car reportedly driven by Ms. Sherbrook. When the officer attempted to stop the car, he was nearly struck as the pair drove away. The car was stopped on southbound I-75, at which time Mr. Dahms and Ms. Sherbrook were arrested.
