FINDLAY Hancock County commissioners yesterday approved the Hancock County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities plan to ask voters to renew one of two levies that support the agency s operations.
In May, a five-year, 2.5-mill operating levy will be on the ballot. Connie Ament, superintendent of Blanchard Valley Center, said the levy would generate $3.8 million a year at a time when the agency is facing more cuts in state funding.
The 2.5-mill levy and a separate 1.9-mill levy provide about 63 percent of Blanchard Valley s $11 million budget.
