FOSTORIA - Four cars on a CSX Transportation Corp. freight train derailed at the Columbus Avenue crossing about 8:05 last night, pulling down power lines and leaving three AEP Ohio customers without electricity.

No one was hurt. Fostoria police were at the crossing until about 8:50 p.m., when CSX crews took control as they tried to right the cars.

As they derailed, the CSX cars carrying construction debris toppled a power pole and damaged other electrical equipment, an AEP spokesman said. Power was to be restored this morning. Authorities did not say when the rail crossing would be cleared.
