Tom Noe s appeal on his conviction for stealing millions from Ohio s $50 million rare-coin funds will be heard Feb. 17.
Noe s attorneys and county prosecutors will each have 20 minutes for oral arguments related to the merits of Noe s appeal.
Noe, a onetime Republican fund-raiser and a former rare-coin dealer, is appealing his 2006 conviction on 29 charges related to his management of a rare-coin fund for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation.
In documents filed with the court, Noe s attorneys say he didn t receive a fair trial because of media attention.
Noe is serving an 18-year sentence in state prison for his conviction by a Lucas County jury on corruption, theft, forgery, and money laundering charges.
