One student injured, another in police custody after stabbing near school

A student from Gunckel Park Middle School was injured and another was arrested after a stabbing several blocks from the school Friday afternoon, officials said.

Toledo Public School officials said the two boys were walking home after dismissal from the central Toledo school, 430 Nebraska Ave., when the fight occurred at about 2:30 p.m.

One of the boys, whose name and age was not released, was taken to a local hospital after he returned to the school building seeking medical assistance. School officials said his injuries were not serious.

Shortly before 3:45 p.m. officers led the other boy in handcuffs from the school building to a police cruiser parked outside.
