A man who was stabbed several times when he allegedly tried to burglarize a North Toledo home was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Monday.

Frederick Martin, 20, was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and robbery. Police said he was not in custody Monday night.

Mr. Martin, whose address was not available, was found in the 800 block of Woodward Avenue in North Toledo Jan. 11 after he collapsed from his wounds.

He was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated, authorities said. He was arrested Jan. 28.

Police said James White, Jr., 49, and his son James White III, 27, returned to their apartment at 3256 Stickney Ave., about 3:30 p.m. to find the door open.

The residents went inside the apartment and began fighting with the suspect after he threatened them with a pellet gun, police said. The suspect was stabbed in the altercation and fled the home.
