Toledo police arrest 69 in three-day drug sweep

Toledo police arrested 69 people in a three-day drug sweep of the city in remembrance of Vice/Narcotics Detective Keith Dressel.

The sweep, labeled "Operation Dirty Boy II," garnered an estimated $87,000 in illegal drugs, $28,902 in currency, seven firearms, according to Toledo police.

Police seized crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and prescription pills as they executed 26 search warrants.

Police targeted 26 addresses in the operation, largely in the central city.

As a result of the sweep, 67 felony and 71 misdemeanor charges were filed and two felony warrants and 81 misdemeanor warrants were served.

A year ago, police honored the one-year anniversary of the death of Mr. Dressel, who was killed in the line duty, by conducting a sweep that resulted in 53 arrests and confiscating $111,000 worth of cocaine and crack cocaine.
