MONROE - The man and woman found dead Thursday in an apartment in an apparent murder-suicide have been identified by Monroe County sheriff's deputies.

The victims are Timothy Shock, 53, and his girlfriend, Mary Bryant-Grahl, 37, said detective Sgt. Heath Velliquette.

The two were found about 5:30 p.m. Thursday by a relative of Mr. Shock who had come to the apartment in the 1700 block of Stewart Road, near Arbor Creek Drive, in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township. The last time anyone had talked to the couple was on Wednesday, authorities said.

Sergeant Velliquette said the woman was found in a bedroom with multiple stab wounds and she appeared to have been in a struggle.

The man was found in the bathroom with self-inflicted wounds, the sergeant said. He added that the weapon used "was a sharp instrument," although he declined to be more specific.
