Michigan hunts Medicare imposter

2/21/2009

TEMPERANCE - Anyone in southeast Michigan who's been approached by a woman posing as a Medicare representative is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Detective Jeff Pauli said a Bedford Township woman Thursday reported that a woman came to her door, asking if she could come in to explain changes to Medicare. The resident turned the woman away and called authorities. "She checked with Medicare, and it does not send out representatives like that," the detective said.

The imposter is described as well-dressed, white, and in her 40s. She has dark brown hair and is slender and about 5 feet, 6 inches tall.

To report suspicious activity, call 734-243-7070.
