A central Toledo man was critically injured in a crash Sunday morning when he was thrown from his vehicle after striking a tree, police said.
Richard Foster, Jr., 33, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where his condition was not immediately available. A hospital official said he is in the intensive care unit.
Mr. Foster was northbound on Bennett, near California Boulevard about 4 a.m. when he lost control of his minivan, struck a fence, and then a tree, throwing him from the vehicle, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
