Man injured as van hits tree on Bennett Road

A central Toledo man was injured Sunday when his minivan struck a tree, throwing him from the vehicle, police said.

Richard Foster, Jr., 33, was in critical condition Sunday night at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was northbound on Bennett Road near California Boulevard about 4 a.m. yesterday when he lost control of the vehicle. It went off the right side of the road, struck a fence, and then a tree, police said.
