Four years ago, Democrat Keith Wilkowski ran for mayor using the Web address wilkowskiformayor.com. It said it all. The perfect Web site. But that Web site address wasn't available to Mr. Wilkowski this year as he tools up for another run at Toledo's top government position.

Jay and Kara Wagoner have lived in West Toledo for nearly a dozen years and they each have jobs in suburban communities. The couple very soon could have a reason to move out of Toledo. "I love the neighborhood - it's a great neighborhood - and at the time I bought my house, I worked in the city of Toledo, but one of the reasons I bought a house in Toledo was the reciprocity agreement," Mr. Wagoner said. "I knew I wouldn't get double-taxed."

Jackie Frisch has big plans and big dreams to go with her big heart and big family. The only thing that may be in short supply is time. Millions of people got to meet the bubbly mother of 12 when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition built the Frisch family a dream home in West Toledo last fall.

Into the church they streamed by the dozen, bringing objects to receive a special kind of benediction. Terrible Towels, magnets, magazines, school notebooks. Unblemished footballs snug in cardboard boxes. Well-worn jerseys and backpacks. Each received hands-on treatment from the young hero who penned his swooping signature over and again.
