2 people in custody after drive-by shooting in Monroe County
2/26/2009MONROE Monroe County sheriff s deputies have taken two people into custody in connection with a drive-by shooting in the 800 block of Smith Street in Monroe County s Frenchtown Township.
The suspects names have not been released and charges are being sought for attempted murder, felony firearm, and possession with intent to deliver cocaine, sheriff deputies said.
Deputies responded to the Chestnut Hills apartment complex at 2840 North Monroe Street about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and at the same time were informed of a shooting victim in the emergency room at Monroe Mercy Hospital.
After detectives responded to the hospital to assist with the shooting investigation, there was a report of a drive-by shooting on Smith St.
Authorities later determined that all three incidents were related, identified a suspect, and served a search warrant at 2840 North Monroe.
