A man accused of holding a woman captive for three days and reading Bible passages to her was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury on kidnapping and assault charges.

Troy Brisport, 34, of 4127 Secor Rd., Apt. 105 was charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of attempt to commit murder, and one count of felonious assault. He remains in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $400,000 bond.

Mr. Brisport is accused of driving a Detroit woman to his Toledo apartment Feb. 11, after she told him she had no place to stay. Once she was inside, he handcuffed her wrists and ankles and tried more than once to suffocate her with pillows and a blanket, police said.

He is accused of undressing her and putting an adult diaper on her, according to court documents. He held her in the apartment for three days without food until she escaped while Mr. Brisport was sleeping, police said.
