Four people remain hospitalized after Lake Township accident

Four people hurt Friday in a Lake Township accident still are hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

Deanna Dalton, 42, of South Freedom Drive, Northwood, who was driving a minivan hit by a pickup at Woodville and Millbury roads, was in serious condition Saturday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. One of Ms. Dalton s passengers, Marissa Mullins, 13, was in critical condition Saturday at St. Vincent while another, Miranda Mullins, 11, was in serious condition.

The driver of a car Ms. Dalton struck after she was hit, Becky Breier, 54, of Pickle Road, Oregon, was in fair condition Saturday at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon.

The accident occurred about 3:50 p.m. Friday when Jonathan Paul, 19, of Main Street in Millbury, failed to yield at a stop sign while he was traveling northbound on Millbury Road. His pickup hit Ms. Dalton s minivan, which was westbound on Woodville Road.

7 hurt in Lake Township as 3 vehicles collide

MILLBURY - Seven people were hurt, including five children, in a three-vehicle crash at Woodville and Millbury roads in Lake Township Friday.

Jonathan Paul, 19, of Main Street in Millbury, was northbound on Millbury Road in a pickup about 3:50 p.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign at Woodville, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. His truck hit a minivan driven by Deanna Dalton, 42, of South Freedom Drive, Northwood, which was westbound on Woodville.

After it was struck, Ms. Dalton's vehicle went left of center and hit an eastbound car driven by Becky Breier, 54, of Pickle Road, Oregon.

Ms. Dalton and two children were thrown from the minivan, Sgt. Vern Fisher said at the scene.

All in the Dalton vehicle were taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Conditions were unavailable Friday night, but Ms. Dalton was in the intensive care unit. Passengers Marissa Mullins, 13, and Miranda Mullins, 11, were in the pediatric intensive care unit. Chance Dalton, 13, and Destiny Dalton, 10, were being evaluated in the emergency room, and a hospital spokesman had no information about Justyce Dalton, 7, whom troopers said was taken to St. Vincent.

No one in the Dalton vehicle wore a seat belt, troopers said. All in the vehicle share an address, but troopers Friday night said they did not know their relationship.

Ms. Breier was taken to St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon. Neither Mr. Paul nor a passenger claimed injuries.

No citations were issued Friday night as troopers were still investigating at the scene.
