Crash injures 2 in Bedford Township

TEMPERANCE - A Lambertville man was in serious condition in a Toledo hospital Sunday night after his car collided with a minivan on Douglas Road in Bedford Township, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.

Michael Stewart, 32, was in serious condition in Toledo Hospital, where he was flown after the crash that occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the minivan, Julie Scout, 36, of Temperance, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where she was in fair condition.

Two children were passengers in the van, but they were not hurt.

Mr. Stewart was southbound on Douglas south of Dean Road when he drove into the northbound lane as he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him and collided with an oncoming minivan, deputies said.

All occupants were wearing seat belts, deputies said.
