Toledo police said they are searching for a male suspect believed to have run over another man with his car early Sunday in the parking lot of the Days Inn on Miami Street near I-75 and the Rossford line.

Witnesses told police that the suspect prowled the parking lot in a black Monte Carlo before striking Robert Ross, whose age was unavailable. He was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and later listed in fair condition.

The incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. as a large gathering was letting out of the Days Inn bar, 1800 Miami St.

Witnesses said the suspect got into an argument with a member of the group and proceeded to circle the parking lot "trying to hit pedestrians," according to a police report.

The suspect's Monte Carlo hit a gray Jeep in the lot before striking Mr. Ross, who police say was carrying six small bags of marijuana in his pants pocket.

The party letting out of the bar was organized by a University of Toledo fraternity, police said..
