Man charged in parents deaths to stand trial

ADRIAN A teenager accused in the September shooting deaths of his parents has been ruled competent to stand trial for murder.

Marshall Scott Sosby, 18, was found to be mentally competent in a hearing yesterday in Lenawee County District Court after Judge Natalia Koselka accepted a psychologist s finding that young Sosby understood the charges filed against him. He is charged with shooting his parents, Michael Sosby, 40, and Carmen Sosby, 37, at their home on Division Street in Adrian on Sept. 23.

The high school junior underwent treatment at the Michigan Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti after Judge Koselka ruled that he was incompetent.

An arraignment in Circuit Court is scheduled for May 6.
