About $1.5 million in federal stimulus funding has been earmarked for projects at the Ottawa National Wildlife Visitors Center and the Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge, according to a statement Monday from the office of U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo).

The grants include $700,000 for solar panels at the two-year-old visitor center, which has energy-saving geothermal heating and cooling, and $825,000 to help clean up ditches and repair the dike within the Cedar Point refuge.
