Findlay schools to seek bond issue from voters

4/29/2009

FINDLAY Voters in the Findlay school district will be asked in August to approve a 4.4-mill bond issue to pay the local share to build two middle schools and a career technical center at the high school.

The school board agreed Monday night to place the bond issue, which would raise $54 million over 28 years, on the Aug. 4 ballot. The Ohio Schools Facilities Commission would pay $19 million toward the project, which would replace Donnell and Glenwood middle schools. Central Middle School would house administrative offices and other groups.

Voters in 2003 rejected a 3.06-mill bond issue that would have paid to build three middle schools and renovate Washington Intermediate School.
