Mayor rejects tentative agreement with police union

Mayor Carty Finkbeiner has rejected a tentative agreement reached between the Toledo Police Patrolman s Association and his own administrators, Chief of Staff Robert Reinbolt said Wednesday night.

Earlier Wednesday, Dan Wagner, president of the TPPA, said the union had reached a tentative agreement on Tuesday night with Police Chief Mike Navarre and Mr. Reinbolt after an informal bargaining session.

Mr. Reinbolt said they rejected the agreement because "the financials are just not there."

"They didn t want to give us all the concessions we requested," he said. "We re still millions of dollars off."

He described Tuesday night s meeting as "forward and positive," but said it was "just not enough to get us over the hump."
