2 roads in Perrysburg rerouted for bridge fixes

5/2/2009

Traffic on two roads near Perrysburg High School will be rerouted for bridge replacement projects one that was planned and one that wasn t.

Wood County Engineer Ray Huber said he decided to close Five Point Road just west of Fort Meigs Road earlier this week after it was found that the bridge was in imminent stage of collapse. It could take at least five weeks to replace it, he said.

Also, starting Tuesday, a portion of Roachton Road will be closed while the county replaces the bridge just west of Hull Prairie Road.

Once the bridge project is finished about July 5, the city and county plan to repave Roachton Road from River Road to the CSX tracks west of Fort Meigs Road work that is to be completed by September.

While Five Point and Roachton roads are used to access I-475, it is recommended drivers take River Road to State Rt. 25 to reach the expressway.
