Dick Anderson steps down at The Andersons

Richard P. "Dick" Anderson, a top leader at The Andersons Inc. for over 20 years, stepped down Friday as chairman and board member of the Maumee agribusiness.

He did so during the company s annual shareholder meeting at its headquarters.

Mr. Anderson, 80, well-known in the Toledo area for his philanthropy and civic contributions, spent 62 years working for the company he helped found with his father, Harold, and four brothers.

He will become chairman emeritus while his nephew, Mike, currently president and CEO, will become chairman.

Mr. Anderson had been chairman since 1999, and previously was president of the company from 1986 through 1996, and CEO from 1986 through 1999.
