The University of Toledo is finalizing its $781.6 million budget for the coming year that doesn t raise tuition for undergraduate students, but increases most fees.

The $781.6 million budget $517.8 academic and $263.8 million clinical was discussed Friday afternoon by the UT Board of Trustee s finance committee, which approved the recommendation.

The full board meets on Monday when it could vote on the proposed budget, although any changes in the state budget could affect UT, and the university would need to amend its budget before the end of June.

The budget keeps undergraduate tuition and general fees flat for the third straight year.

Graduate tuition would increase at least 5 percent depending on the specialization, for example an in-state law student would see tuition and fees go up 6.47 percent.

Residence halls fees are slated to increase 10 percent or 12 percent depending on the hall. Students would pay 12 percent more to stay at The Crossings, an increase of $384, and 10 percent more for Parks Tower, $289.

Several meal plans are slated to increase $5, $15, or $45.

Other fees are set to increase as well, such as parking from $95 to $100 (a 5 percent increase) and ID fees will double from $10 to $20. Lab fees across a number of disciplines are also to increase to cover material and operational cost increases.
