3 people hurt in South Toledo traffic accident

Toledo firefighters work to free a man pinned in his car following a crash on Heatherdowns Boulevard in South Toledo on Wednesday morning. This man and a woman from another vehicle involved in the crash were transported to a hospital.

Two women and a man were hurt when two cars collided head on clipping another one Wednesday morning on Heatherdowns Boulevard in South Toledo, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 7:35 a.m. in the 3700 block of Heatherdowns, according to Toledo police.

A man and a woman who were hurt seriously were taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital. They were the drivers of the cars that crashed head-on, according to the Toledo Fire Department. They had been extricated from their vehicles.

The other woman, the driver of the clipped car, was taken with light injuries to another area hospital, firefighters said.

The accident was under investigation. The identity of the victims and further details of the crash were not released Wednesday morning.
