BOWLING GREEN Bond was set at $250,000 yesterday for a Perrysburg Township man indicted this week in the April 19 murder of his on-and-off girlfriend.

Daniel Prater, 49, of 25574 Broad St. was indicted by a Wood County grand jury for murder, a special felony, and tampering with evidence, a fourth-degree felony. He is charged with killing Henrietta Foster, 57, at her home in the Perrysburg Heights neighborhood.

An autopsy showed Ms. Foster died from asphyxia due to compression of the neck, according to Dr. Douglas W. Hess, Wood County coroner. She also suffered blunt-force trauma to her head, neck, and torso.

Prater, who was being held in the Wood County jail, was arraigned before Wood County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey, who scheduled a jury trial in the case for July 27.
