Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about an incident this month during which a pizza delivery man was beaten and robbed in South Toledo, authorities said.

John Berry, who works for Cottage Inn Pizza, went to an apartment complex at 3950 Airport Highway about 2:40 a.m. on May 3 to deliver two pizzas and knocked on the relevant apartment door.

When there was no answer, Mr. Berry headed back to his car, at which time two men assaulted him. They hit and kicked Mr. Berry, robbed him of two pizzas and $25 in cash, and fled.

One of the men was described as stocky and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall. The other was described as skinny, standing 5 feet, 9 inches, police said.

Mr. Berry was treated for cuts and bruises at the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stopper, 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
