Fermi 2 back on line after cooling-water leak

NEWPORT, Mich. The Fermi 2 nuclear power plant is generating electricity again after being shut down Saturday to repair a cooling water leak, the owner of the plant said.

The leak posed no safety or environmental hazard, a spokesman for DTE Energy Co. said. The cooling water isn t radioactive.

The reactor was shut down early Saturday and was restarted Monday morning.
